Hi, we’re Steve and Sharon, owners of Careel Cottages. We have been married for over 30 years and now have our own grown up family. We have always been passionate travellers, coming to Australia from the UK as working holidaymakers in the 80's and having lived in various locations across NSW.

Katoomba and the Upper Blue Mountains are our passion and now owning these two lovely adjoining cottages on the same land in Katoomba allows us to mix a little business with pleasure.

The cottages are really close to Main Street, so they're super easy to get to. Back Cottage is actually an original 1940s miner’s cottage, recently renovated in 2017, to freshen it up while keeping its charm. The Front Cottage was built in 2008, and has high-vaulted ceilings, filling it with light and making it a lovely place to stay.

We’re considered SuperHosts over on Airbnb and Premier Hosts over on Stayz, and, having over 600 GUEST REVIEWS and a 5 star rating we’re really proud to give all of our guests a great experience.

We have full kitchens with all the appliances you’ll need, outdoor barbecue areas, extra comfy beds and sofas, real log fires, all kinds of heating and cooling and free Wi-Fi, Netflix, Foxtel and Stan. We also have self-check-in any time you need, via the key safe.
