Avalon Restaurant and Cocktail Bar, Katoomba

A vintage and unique restaurant and bar, which combines live entertainment and dining beautifully, hosting four different entertainment nights.

The Supper Club takes place upstairs features a hand-picked selection of local acts you can watch for free while you indulge in their amazing menu – including an array of amazing dishes like oven-baked camembert, seared duck breast and date and apricot pudding.

The Rhythm Lounge takes place downstairs on alternating Fridays, where you can dine and sip on unique cocktails while you drink in an all-vinyl DJ Set which showcases soul, funk, latin, disco and reggae grooves from the '60s and '70s.

The Piano Parlour, downstairs on Saturdays, allows you to treat yourself to gourmet food while talented musicians play live jazz piano to accompany you. You’ll feel like you took a trip out to the 1930s.

Finally, the Comedy Club takes place on the 1st and 3rd Friday of each month and features 4 hand-picked local comedians each time. If you like to laugh, this is for you.

The Baroque Room @ The Carrington Hotel, Katoomba

The Baroque Room is the dedicated event and function room at The Carrington Hotel. An ornate and luxurious experience, the space is used to host anything and everything interesting – from live theatre to comedy, to dance and music performances, to cabaret and film screenings.

Bar NSW at The Lookout, Echo Point, Katoomba

The Lookout at Echo Point is a stand-out venue where you can take in unimaginable views over the valley while you listen to the soulful sounds of local live musicians outdoors every Saturday and Sunday during the day. Pull up a pew around a beer barrel or perch on the balcony outside and enjoy delicious cocktails and a great menu with those vistas.

The Parlour Bar and Lounge @ Hotel Blue, Katoomba

Hotel Blue is a convivial and cosy 1920s guest house which hosts free live music every Friday and Saturday night in the lounge - aptly named The Parlour Bar, because that’s exactly what it feels like in this hand-carved timber bar with vintage furniture and 1920s inspired cocktail menu! Order a hearty pub meal and the tipple of your choice by the open fire, make new friends, and enjoy inspired acoustics from genuine Blue Mountains musos. Bands and musicians of all generations perform here, proving creativity and soul has no age limit.

The Palais Royale Grand Ballroom, Katoomba

The Palais Royale is an ornate and gilded guesthouse which hosts a number of Fusion Boutique performances in their fabulous Grand Ballroom. The space hosts authentic local artists such as King Curly and Dave Graney & Clare Moore from the Coral Snakes, some of whom choose the venue to host album launches. You can check out upcoming Palais Performances on Fusion Boutique’s website. They also make the most of the atmospheric setting by hosting Murder Mystery nights, for those who are in the mood for an evening of intrigue and sleuthing.

Pigeon Lane at Gallery ONE88 

Here's the perfect place for creative types to spend an evening out. Pigeon Lane is a live music venue within an art gallery, and hosts regular dinner + show events where you can catch incredible acts in an intimate boutique bar and speakeasy setting. Enjoy fun and funky New Orleans, San Francisco and Blue Mountains jazz performances while you indulge in herb crusted lamb and aromatic Italian bruschetta, and sip local wines and craft beers.

Bootlegger Bar, Katoomba

This one is mentioned in our best Blue Mountains bars guide too, as it’s a great little venue. As well as serving great liquor brisket and atmosphere they also host a variety of live music events, including acts such as T.Wilds, L.R. Marsh and more. Think rock, alternative and folk.

Station Bar, Katoomba

This is our favourite bar in all of the Blue Mountains, precisely because it’s got it all as far as we’re concerned. That’s why it’s also featured in our Best Blue Mountains Restaurants  and our Best Blue Mountains Pubs and Bars pages! They feature live music and DJs every Friday, Saturday and Sunday night, so you can enjoy funk and soul while you chomp on the best pizza in the Blue Mountains. Aunty Ed’s, Katoomba 

Aunty Ed’s showcases free live music, courtesy of Music in the Mountains, each weekend. You can catch ‘After Dark’ on Fridays from 9pm and ‘Sunday Sessions’ on, well, Sundays. Catch funky acts like Piccolo Bear and Matt Tonks while you enjoy the laid-back retro basement bar vibe.

Megalong Valley

Live @ The Hydro, The Wintergarden Restaurant at the Hydro Majestic Hotel, Megalong Valley

Live @ The Hydro offers something different to most of the laidback live music bar vibes you’ll find in the Blue Mountains. Certain dates offer you the chance to hear the crystal clear vocals of multiple ARIA winner Wendy Matthews, live in the palatial setting of the aptly named Majestic Ballroom.

You can also keep an eye on Fusion Boutique's website for upcoming shows across a range of venues, including Bootlegger Bar, The Palais Royale, and The Baroque Room at The Carrington.

Blue Mountains Theatre, on Macquarie Road, hosts a number of talented acts, ranging from live music, to comedy, and more! You can catch acts like Deborah Conway & Willy Zygier, the high energy Cuban sounds of Caribé, or a night of Joni Mitchell, courtesy of award-winning musical theatre star Queenie van de Zandt
