What’s the experience like?
Simple, beautiful and warm!
This lovely, traditional Finnish sauna is kept at around 90°C, offering deep, dry heat that helps muscles release tension and gets your circulation flowing. This contrast therapy is known to help reduce stress, improve sleep, lift your mood, and support overall wellbeing. It’s the kind of self-care that feels both ancient and modern, functional and luxurious, all at once.
You’re welcome to repeat the cycle as many times as you like during your two-hour session. Some people rotate through the sauna and cold plunge 3 to 4 times, with breaks in between to relax on the loungers, sip water or herbal tea, and enjoy the outdoor deck in good weather!

Silent Sauna is observed from 7am to 9am and 6pm to 9pm. So bear this in mind when you’re booking. It’s up to you whether you want to soak in the tranquility for a truly blissed out and meditative experience, or whether you’d prefer a good chinwag!
What makes the sauna special?
It’s more than just a sauna!
This Finnish sauna in the Blue Mountains has become a little community hub for locals and visitors alike. It’s a place to reset, take time for yourself, and drop into a slower rhythm. There's something grounding about stepping into the blissful warmth on a cold mountain morning, or finishing a long day with a plunge, a re-heat and a stretch of silence.
The idea behind the Blue Mountains Sauna was to create a space that reflects the healing, social, and deeply human nature of sauna culture. It's not just about heat, it's also about pausing and reconnecting with your body and breath.
As ‘sauna culture’ continues to grow in Australia, this local gem stands out for its thoughtful design, welcoming vibe, and wonderful location.
What are the health benefits of a sauna session?
Regular sauna-going offers a wide range of physical and mental health benefits. The intense, dry heat of a traditional Finnish sauna helps to increase your heart rate, widen blood vessels, and stimulate circulation, a little like a gentle cardio workout. This can help reduce blood pressure, relieve muscle soreness, and support recovery after physical activity.
Sweating also helps the body’s natural detoxification process. Mentally, the calming heat combined with moments of stillness can lower stress levels, support better sleep, and help soothe the nervous system.
When paired with cold plunge therapy, the contrast further boosts circulation and can leave you feeling energised, clear-headed, and deeply refreshed.
The Finnish swear by it!
